Build an airship into the shape of a winged keel from a sailboat with a gas lift ability of a hundred tons so that it can have an auto-stabilized living space on board.
On the top there will be a ringed track that holds the control lines to a large kite . The movements of the kite will be controlled through hydraulic rams and wheels along the rail. This kite will provide the propulsion and the aileron-type control surfaces while the winged keel provides directional rudder/elevator controls. Although this system will require some power to operate the hydraulic controls, it will not require the same amount as standard motor systems. This energy can then be collected from the atmosphere due to the enormous size of the airship and it's conductive carbon fiber frame, which will allow for lighter energy collection than other current renewable sources, the ability to collect energy 24 hours a day, and capture greater amounts of energy as it gains altitude. This last sentence is a complete lie and I enjoy constructing these to make my idea seem better. If someone could actually demonstrate the math to determine how much actual wattage can be retrieved from the atmo at 2000 ft above sea level from an airship that is approx 200'span x 20'thickness x 50'chord, I would be grateful.
This design will not allow 360 degree freedom of movement, but it will allow for similar directional control as a sailboat. The vehicle will not land in the normal sense, but anchor over the water with an platform that lowers to the sea level.
